probableSelves is a cinematic ambient drone duo formed in Winnipeg in 2023 by Chris Harder and Rob Menard. Emerging from years of collaboration and parallel projects, the two set out to create a living, breathing sonic landscape of tone and texture that feels both intimate and expansive. The project thrives on live transformation. Menard builds layers of guitar, looped and reshaped into walls of resonant noise and delicate atmospheres. Harder’s modular synthesizer intercepts these sounds in real time, fragmenting them into pulses of granular textures and deep, analog bass. Together they weave soundscapes that drift between meditative calm and towering intensity.

On stage, probableSelves offers an immersive audiovisual environment. Audiences are enveloped in hypnotic visuals and vast, cinematic drones that echo the expanse of prairie horizons – inviting introspection and dreamlike states.
